3 Steps to Clean Your Car: A Simple Guide

While cleaning the car seems very simple and straightforward thing to do but trust me it isn’t. Just pouring the water all over and wiping it with a piece of cloth is NOT the way it has to be done. There are certain things to keep in mind so that the car is in best shape and form after washing.

Dry Dusting

Start with wiping your car with a dry cloth or a dry duster. This will remove all the dust gathered on the car which is very important before we start to pour water on it. The car’s dust mixes with water, spreading and creating swirl marks all over it. So without dry dusting the car, cleaning the car with water is counter-productive.

Washing with Jet Spary

Jet Spary washing is a great way to remove hard stains which will require a lot of effort if done manually. With a jet spray, you can reach dust and other stains that have settled in places where hands can’t reach. Also using jet spray ensures you use water optimally. After all, water conservation effort is everyones’ responsibility.

I suggest to use water only once in a while when it is actually needed. Every day, our apartment’s security or some local washerman washes our cars with water. This practice has dual drawbacks: firstly, it wastes water, and secondly, it causes the cars to rust well beforehand. Cleaning the car with a dry cloth is more than sufficient for daily use and water based washing can be kept for days’ when it is required. This way you also end up saving a some amount on daily washing.

Dry Wipe post Washing

You might confuse this with first step of Dry Dusting but its not. While Dry Dusting prepares the car for water based washing, Dry wiping is altogether different. Firstly, this invloves a very detailed drying and not just dusting. And you should do it in a manner that ensures you don’t leave any water residue on the car. As we said before, water residue on the car is receipe for rust accumulation.
